इस article में हम generic "AI सीखने के 10 तरीके" वाली बात नहीं करेंगे. Instead, देखते हैं कि IIT Madras खुद AI के साथ क्या कर रहा है और इसका students के लिए क्या मतलब है.

September 2025 term से Diploma in Data Science में remaining 6 credits के लिए दो options में से एक चुनने की व्यवस्था है. इनमें से एक option है Introduction to Deep Learning and Generative AI + उसका project.
इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि पूरा programme अब सिर्फ Generative AI पर based है. लेकिन AI की direction को देखते हुए curriculum में deep learning और GenAI का dedicated pathway होना definitely noteworthy है.
Official course page के अनुसार, इस course में Artificial Neural Networks, CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, Autoencoders, VAEs, GANs, Diffusion Models और Large Language Models जैसे topics cover किए जाते हैं.
और course सिर्फ theory तक limited नहीं है. Students TensorFlow/Keras के साथ neural networks build करते हैं और आगे GANs, diffusion models और LLM-related techniques तक जाते हैं.

यह point खास तौर पर interesting है.
आज Generative AI को अक्सर prompting तक reduce कर दिया जाता है. लेकिन IIT Madras के Introduction to DL and GenAI Project में students को PyTorch, Hugging Face, LLMs, Generative AI models, transformers, diffusion models और fine-tuning techniques के साथ hands-on work करने का opportunity मिलता है.

2026 में IIT Madras researchers ने CMC Vellore के साथ मिलकर kidney disease detection और assessment के लिए AI-based technologies develop कीं.
इस work में अलग-अलग AI systems शामिल थे. एक machine learning model clinical और laboratory information से chronic kidney disease के risk को predict करता है. दूसरा deep learning system CT scans को analyse करके kidney conditions classify करता है. इसके अलावा एक 3D imaging platform CT scans से kidneys reconstruct करके tumour volume और kidney involvement assess करने के लिए बनाया गया.
यह example दिखाता है कि AI सीखने का scope सिर्फ software products या chatbots तक limited नहीं है. Healthcare जैसे domains में domain knowledge + AI का combination equally important होता जा रहा है.

AI का एक और interesting application road safety है.
2026 में IIT Madras के Centre of Excellence for Road Safety ने BIMSTEC AI Road Safety Hackathon organise किया. इसका focus AI के through road safety problems ko address करना था और इसमें India के अलावा BIMSTEC region के countries से students, engineers, researchers और problem-solvers शामिल हुए.
इसी broader work के तहत IIT Madras ने ThinnAI नाम का AI-enabled personalised driver training platform भी introduce किया. इसका उद्देश्य aspiring drivers को traffic signs, road rules और other driving-related knowledge assess और train करने के लिए technology का इस्तेमाल करना है.
इसके साथ RATH नाम का AI-enabled data-driven road safety governance platform भी introduce किया गया.
इससे एक बात clear होती है: AI projects अब सिर्फ "build another chatbot" तक सीमित नहीं हैं. Real-world problems के लिए AI को data, human behaviour और domain expertise के साथ combine करना पड़ रहा है.

September 2026 में IIT Madras और UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development ने next-generation AI और immersive learning technologies develop करने के लिए collaboration announce किया.
इस collaboration में AI के साथ Extended Reality, game design और immersive technologies को combine करने की बात है, ताकि learning experiences को ज्यादा interactive और learner-centric बनाया जा सके.

AI education को campus students तक limited रखने के बजाय IIT Madras-led SWAYAM Plus initiative के through wider learner community तक भी ले जाया जा रहा है.
2026 में SWAYAM Plus ने AI for All initiative के तहत नए AI courses launch किए, जिनमें AI for Aspiring Engineers, AI for Administrators और Prompt Engineering शामिल हैं.
इससे पहले 2026 में AI for All initiative को Hindi में भी launch किया गया था, जिसमें learners को अपनी preferred language में introductory AI education देने पर focus किया गया.
Students के लिए interesting बात यह है कि ये programmes AI को अलग-अलग backgrounds के learners तक ले जाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. यानी AI education धीरे-धीरे सिर्फ specialised computer science classrooms तक limited नहीं रह रही.
